If you opt for a high quality indian sandstone (actually sourced from India) then how recomendation would be, no, a sealant is not required. High quality Indian sandstone is typically extremely dense, non-porous and hard wearing and therefore a sealant is just additional cost that unnecessary.
Assuming that you have opted for a high-quality Indian sandstone, then a simple wash down to remove surface debris is all that is typically required. If you have chosen a cheaper variation, then it may be a good idea to look at a sealant to protect the longevity and aesthetics of the sandstone.
