In those instances, 60mm paving blocks may be more suitable, but that is only if the sub-base is laid to the necessary depth.

The foundations and drainage that happen beneath the surface are crucial to make sure the driveway has the longest lifespan possible.

Kingsway Driveways have extensive experience installing various types of driveways across Hamilton and carry £5m public liability insurance. For kerbside lowering, a professional driveway installer that is fully insured is usually required. In most cases, installing a driveway is a “Permitted Development”. Kerb lowering is not though.

Should the kerb need to be lowered to ensure safe access to your driveway, we can ensure that it is done to professional standards in line with local streets and roadworks regulations. Kerbside lowering is imperative for your vehicle’s upkeep, too. Mounting a high kerb multiple times is going to wear tyres out fast. Besides, for street parking, the lowered kerb lets other drivers know not to park there. Without it, you could find your driveway access blocked by other vehicles, defeating the purpose of installing it.
